Arthur Andrew Sellers Jr.

February 4, 1959 — June 21, 2023

Littleton, NC

Arthur Andrew Sellers, Jr., 64, of Littleton, NC, died at his home Wednesday, June 21, following a brief yet brave battle with cancer.

Art was born February 4, 1959, to Elsie Sullivan and Arthur Andrew Sellers, Sr. of Selma, NC. He later graduated from Smithfield-Selma Highschool, attended Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC, and subsequently graduated with the class of 1981 from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia.

After earning his Funeral Service license, Art worked with multiple prestigious organizations including Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern, NC, Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Winston-Salem, NC, Drum and Willis-Reynolds Funeral Homes in Newton-Conover, NC, Hall-Wynne Funeral Home - Griffin Chapel in Pittsboro, NC, and Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Art was a huge fan of NC State Wolfpack Sports and the Carolina Hurricanes NHL team.

Some of Art's favorite things to do with friends and family were grilling, tailgating, and visits to the beach. Always quick with a joke and witty comments, Art filled the room with his big personality, friendly presence, and contagious laughter. His kindness and empathy are what made him a beloved funeral director with the families he served.

Art was predeceased by his mother, Elsie Sullivan Sellers. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Belinda Edwards Sellers of the home, sons Arthur A. Sellers, III (Blair), and Braxton J. Sellers (Janis)  both of Durham, NC, Thomas B. McAllister of Bremerton, WA, and Charles R. McAllister (Jennifer) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; daughters, Kirsten B. Sellers and Donna E. Sellers, both of the home; grandchildren Logan and Elayna McAllister of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Terra Vallejo of Fuquay-Varina and Meloni Vajello or Rio Rancho, NM; father, Arthur A. Sellers, Sr. of Selma, NC; sister, Melodie S. Ward (Ricky) of Smithfield, NC; nephew Brandon Ward (Amanda) of Princeton, NC; a great-nephew (Ayden) and great-niece (Finleigh), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Sellers family will receive friends on Sunday June 25 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. His family would love to see as much NC State or Carolina Hurricanes fan apparel and/or colors at this casual gathering as visitors are able to provide.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research or a charity of your choice. They also want to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the kindness and care shown Art in his final days at home.

Online condolences can be made by visiting www.hockadayfs.com, obituaries. Arrangements are under the care of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
