Charles Vestal Wilkerson III, 46, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016, following a lengthy illness from a brain tumor. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. Charles was born on May 8, 1969 in Greenville. He attended St. Peters Catholic School, A.G. Cox Middle School and D. H. Conley High School, and was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy. He received his funeral service education at Fayetteville Technical Community College and was a co-owner and partner with Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory until retiring due to health reasons. Charles was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Greenville, former board member of the Greater Greenville Community Foundation, and also worked with the Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Classic. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his: wife of 22 years, Jodie Stall Wilkerson; sons, Dustin Wright-Wilkerson, and Grey Wilkerson, both of Huntington Beach, CA; parents, Charles V. Wilkerson, Jr. and Barbara Robinson Wilkerson of Grimesland. sister, Emily W. Coffman and husband, Bill; and nephews, Andrew Faulkner and Ned Coffman, all of Greenville. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Charles and Barbara Wilkerson.
