Edwin B. "Tripp" Clements, III, 33, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at his home. Tripp was born in Durham County, the son of Edwin B. Clements, Jr. and Robin Tilley Clements. He was a graduate of Riverside High School and Fayetteville Technical Community College. Tripp was an avid Duke fan and an Iron Duke. He was a loving husband and father and very well loved by everyone in the community. Tripp loved his profession as a funeral director and served the families of Durham and the surrounding counties with love and compassion. He touched so many with his infectious smile, hugs, and loving demeanor. Tripp enjoyed being on the field and helping coach his son's little league baseball team and watching his daughter's multiple fashion shows and dance performances and looking forward to welcoming his new baby girl, Kaylee Grace, in January. In addition to his parents, Tripp is survived by his wife, Ashley "Breezy" Tatum Clements; son, Mason Ty Clements; daughter, Tatum Caroline Clements; sisters, Alison Clements Whitaker and husband, Rodney, and Erin Clements; maternal grandmother, Tootsie Tilley; nieces, Taylor Mayes, Maddie Whitaker and Falyn Whitaker; in-laws, Louie and Dee Tatum; brother-in-law, Dusty Tatum. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Monday, 2 p.m. at New Horizon Church, 100 Horizon Place, Durham, NC 27705, with the Rev. Chris Teseniar, Rev. Brad Caldwell and Rev. Leah Rade officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Horizon Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at any Wells Fargo branch to the Edwin B. Clements, III Benefit Memorial Fund for the benefit of his children.
