Joan "JoAnn" Welborn McDaniel

Mrs. Joan “JoAnn” Welborn McDaniel, age 86 of Wilkesboro passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest-Baptist Wilkes Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Bro. Jason Whitley and Pastor Eddie Tharpe officiating. Burial to follow at Cranberry Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

JoAnn was born December 13, 1937, in Wilkes County to Charlie and Boyde Church Welborn. She was a member of Cranberry Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Bobby McDaniel, son; Brad McDaniel, two brothers; Junior Welborn and Gerald Welborn.

She is survived by two daughters; Elaine Whitley and husband Jason of North Wilkesboro, Jody Tharpe and husband Eddie of Wilkesboro, grandchildren; Rebecca Long and husband Travis, Jason Seth Whitley and wife Jamie, Brittney Meier and husband Jack, Ashley McDaniel, Jarred McDaniel,   great-grandchildren; Braxton Long, Joah Long, Micah Whitley, Mikalyn Whitley, Ever Grace, and Addison Faith Meier, three sisters; Geneva Byrd and husband Douglas of Roaring River, Jean Pardue of North Wilkesboro, Judy Brooks and husband Kenneth of North Wilkesboro.
