Obituary

Brother to Richard Jones, Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur.

Rodger Lewis Jones, 80, of Bear Creek, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family, Sunday, November 23, 2025 at his residence.

Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Tyson's Creek Baptist Church, Bear Creek.

Officiating, Rev. Scott Walker, Rev. Sandy Yow, Rev. Bob Wachs.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Rodger was born in Moore County, and grew up in Bennett where he graduated from Bennett High School. He served in the United States National Guard and was a longtime member of Tyson’s Creek Baptist Church. Rodger was a former owner of More Heat Wood Stoves and Jones Auto Sales. In his later years, Rodger owned and operated Crossroads Grill at Harper’s Crossroads in Bear Creek where he retired. Rodger loved spending time with his family, cooking big meals, and traveling to Maggie Valley with all his grandchildren. He was an avid sportsman, where he enjoyed deer hunting and going to Eastern North Carolina hunting and fishing with good friends. Rodger enjoyed participating in the Back in the Woods Again annual deer hunt for hunters with disabilities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye Bray Jones, parents, Wilbert and Mildred Maness Jones, and sister, Mary Ann Murray.

Survivors: daughter, Kara Oldham and husband, Bobby, of Bear Creek, sons, Ryan Jones and wife, Gina, Keenan Jones and wife, Deanna, both of Bear Creek, sister, Marjorie Maness and husband, Wayne, of Bennett, brother, Richard Jones and wife, Wanda, of Ramseur, grandchildren, Will Jones, Madison Jones, Ian Jones, Olivia Jones, Leah Jones, Emma Lineberry and husband, Ben, Katherine Grace Oldham, Caleb Oldham, Karsyn Oldham, special friend, Barbara Dowd.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Leyla Dawson, Jennie Caviness and Betty Phillips for their care.

Visitation, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur and other times at the residence.
