He was an Elder at Macedonia Presbyterian Church, Treasurer of the Candor Lions Club for many years, former Town Commissioner of Candor, an Insurance Agent for over 30 years. Following his retirement from Montgomery Insurance, Ronnie was an employee of Briggs Funeral Home. Ronnie was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family, friends and church. Some of his most memorable times were spent shopping and going out to eat with the love of his life, Texie. Everyone that met him knew how much he loved his children and grandchildren. From ballgames to beach trips, family dinners and those many phone calls when Carolina was playing basketball. He loved laughing with his breakfast buddies at Blake's Restaurant, telling stories and mowing his lawn while smoking his cigars. He was active in his town and enjoyed serving his community with the Lions Club. He was a friend to the many people he met and had the privilege to work with. He is most remembered for his laughter, big smile and the love he shared to all that he met. To know him was to love him. He is survived by his wife, Texie Greene Thomas of the home; son, Ronald Vance Thomas, II (Crystal) of Jackson Springs; daughter, Leslie Pritchard (Corey) of Candor; 2 grandchildren, Garner Vance Thomas and Olivia Reagan Thomas.
