Ruby Royal

Ruby went home to Jesus Sunday, March 11, 2018. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM March 17, 2018 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 until 10:45 at the church. Ruby was born August 19, 1925 in Wilkes County to Evert and Cordelia Absher Felts. She was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church and attended Rock Springs Baptist Church as long as she was able. She worked with various children and adult programs including being a grandparent at Mountain View Elementary School. She loved cooking and visiting the home bound and sick. She enjoyed sewing, which included clothes for her children and quilts. She enjoyed making a large garden and canning the results every year. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude McGrady and Franklin Junior Royal; one daughter, Lois McGrady Lane; two sons, Steven McGrady and James Loyd McGrady; one granddaughter, Kim McGrady Scott; one great-grandson, Allen Matheson and one son-in-law; Billy Dean Teague. Ruby is survived by: One daughter; Wanda McGrady Teague of McGrady, one son and daughter-in-law; David Allen and April Parsons McGrady of Millers Creek, one son-in-law; Bud Lane of McGrady. grandchildren; Pamela McGrady Wilcox, Mike and Donna Lane, Scott and Tonya Teague, LeAnn and Jeff Odle, Daniel and Jamie Lane, Joseph McGrady, Emily McGrady; great-grandchildren, Tasha Wyatt, Kendra Wilcox, Tonya Pena, Amber Lane, Jackson Teague, Aden Teague, Brandon Lane, Reagan Lane, Will Lane; six great-great grandchildren and one brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Christine Felts of McGrady.
